Refurbished
Refurbished hair removal machines
Refurbished laser and IPL hair removal machines, engineer-checked with documented shot counts. Availability varies — ask us.
HairRemovalMachines.co.uk supplies professional laser and IPL hair removal machines to UK clinics, salons and medi-spas. Refurbished stock moves quickly and is not always available, so this page sets out what we will sell as refurbished and what to demand from any supplier — including one that is not us.
A machine sold as refurbished should come with four things in writing: a documented emitter shot count, a service and fault history, a calibration certificate dated within the last twelve months, and a written warranty from a UK entity that will still exist to honour it. If any of those is missing, you are not buying a refurbished machine — you are buying a used machine with a nicer word attached.
The specific risks in this market are worth naming. Diode bar life is finite and shot count is the only honest measure of remaining life, so a unit with no shot record is unpriceable. IPL lamps are consumables and may be near end of life. Grey-import units often cannot be serviced in the UK at all because parts and firmware are not available to independent engineers. And a machine bought from a closing salon carries no warranty whatsoever once the seller dissolves.
Our position is straightforward: we only sell refurbished machines we have commissioned or serviced ourselves, with shot counts and calibration documented, and they carry a UK warranty and go onto our service records like new stock. That limits how much refurbished stock we have, which is the honest trade-off.

Frequently asked
- Is a refurbished laser hair removal machine worth buying?
- It can be, when it comes with a documented shot count, recent calibration, a service history and a UK-backed warranty. Without all four, the saving rarely covers the risk of an unserviceable machine.
- Are cheap machines from overseas marketplaces safe to buy?
- Treat them with caution. Common problems are absent UK servicing and parts, no valid documentation for insurance or licensing, unverifiable output calibration and no recourse if the unit fails. The purchase price is rarely the real cost.
- Do you take machines in part-exchange?
- Yes, and part-exchange is where most of our refurbished stock comes from. Send the model, age and shot count for a valuation.
